Spring Thread® lifts are indicated for repositioning tissue in the treatment of light to moderate ptoses (sagging skin).

This is the first main sign of ageing that appears at the same time as wrinkles, loss of volume and a change in the skin’s suppleness and elasticity.

Spring Thread® tensor threads are suitable for men and women from the age of 40 to 70 plus. There are no strict contraindications. Your doctor will simply ensure that you are in good general health and that you are not suffering from an auto-immune disease that may present a risk.

The threads are inserted at the doctor’s practice, under local anaesthetic, with no scarring. No operating block or general anaesthetic are necessary.

Thread lifts are particularly suitable for restoring the oval of the face. They restore volume to the cheekbones, reduce nasolabial folds, eliminate bitterness folds and attenuate jowls.

The face regains it harmonious oval shape, a sign of beauty and youthfulness.

Other areas of the face, eyebrows and neck can also be greatly improved with Spring Thread®. Thread lifts for the body can also be envisaged in some cases, such as sagging breasts or buttocks.

To learn about all the possibilities, ask your doctor or aesthetic surgeon for advice, or contact us.

A simple insertion procedure takes one hour at the medical practice, under local anaesthetic.

Following an initial meeting to assess your needs, your doctor or aesthetic surgeon will ask you to sign an informed consent form and confirm your appointment.

The practitioner will begin by drawing the entry and exit points of the threads, as well as their path. They will then administer the local anaesthetic. The threads will then be inserted beneath the skin and tightened to reposition the tissue vertically.
Spring Thread® tensor threads are implanted in the subcutaneous fatty tissue. This is the fatty layer 3 to 4 mm beneath the skin, under the dermis and epidermis. This area is not painful as it is neither innervated nor vascularised.

The placement can be rectified if necessary at a check-up visit within eight days by ‘unhooking’ several of the cogs. Beyond this period, fibrosis will occur and the tissue lifting process will begin.

Spring Thread® lifts can be used on their own or as combination treatment to complement another procedure. There are several possible insertion techniques depending on various criteria (desires and expectations, chosen area for a thread lift, doctor’s preferences).

The choice of a simple insertion arrangement allows for easy adjustment in complete safety.

After a Spring Thread® lift, oedema and bruising may occur, or the skin may appear uneven. These problems will usually disappear in a few days.

You may experience post-operative pain that can be managed by taking the painkillers prescribed by your doctor for the first 2 or 3 days.

Your doctor will prescribe treatment to be taken for several days before and after the procedure.

You should expect 2 to 3 days of discomfort. However, no bandages, dressings or contention garments are necessary.

You are not required to modify your lifestyle. We simply recommend that you ‘take things calmly’ for a few days.

After the threads have been inserted, you will see the harmonious oval of your face redefined, at the same time your natural expressions will be retained and your face will not be ‘frozen’.

The tissue is repositioned without adding volume, the oval of the face is redrawn, facial features are lifted, cheekbones become more prominent and wrinkles are attenuated.

Out of discretion for our patients and to comply with medical device regulations,
we do not publish before-and-after photos.

To view photos of results, please ask your doctor directly or send us a message. We will be happy to provide you with information.

A unique feature of Spring Thread® is that the numerous rounded cogs are not aggressive and oriented in all four directions. This makes for an effective and non-traumatic anchoring of the tissue.

The elasticity and flexibility of Spring Thread® tensor threads guarantee safe and comfortable insertion.

Spring Thread® tensor threads are suitable for correcting facial ptose and enable patients to regain a harmonious oval shape: the nasolabial folds, bitterness folds and jowls are attenuated. Thread lifts can also be performed in many other areas: the neck, eyebrows, breasts, buttocks, etc.

The threads for the Spring Thread® brand are manufactured entirely in France. They carry CE marking (Class IIb Medical Device in accordance with Directive 93/42/EC) and comply with the ISO 13485 standard relating to the manufacture of medical devices. They undergo numerous tests during the course of manufacture and before they are placed on the market. They are made up of a PET (polyethylene terephthalate) helix core with a medical-grade silicone moulded casing. The PET creates a strong product and ensures stretching is limited (15%), while the silicone ensures the required elasticity for a natural effect. All the Spring Thread® components are biocompatible (fully tolerated by the body) and have been used in implant surgery for over 50 years.

Inserting the threads is almost painless as the procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic; the doctor performing the procedure may choose to also prescribe a light sedative at the patient’s request.

The post-operative effects are slight and normal activity can be resumed very soon after the procedure. It is advisable to remain calm for the first two or three days. Any pain can be managed by taking painkillers. A feeling of tightness in the skin is common. Rare bruising and oedema might occur. These signs are temporary and usually last about a week.

Any lines at the temples, more or less visible depending on the degree of lift, will disappear on their own in the days following the procedure. A follow-up visit should be scheduled in the week after the intervention.

A thread lift will allow your face to regain its harmonious oval shape. The tissue is lifted vertically, so the nasolabial folds, bitterness folds and jowls become less apparent. The oval is restored, while facial expressions are retained for a natural result.
The effect is visible immediately and will be optimal approximately two months after the threads have been inserted, which is the required period for the fibrosis process to occur.

The cost of the procedure depends on the number of treatment areas and therefore the number of threads inserted, as well as the doctor and the geographical location. In the initial consultation, your doctor will draw up a detailed, personalised quote for you.

There are no real medical contraindications, with the exception of certain autoimmune diseases that may present a risk.
Patients who are unstable psychologically or who have unrealistic hopes for the technique will be refused. If the skin is very fine and wrinkled, the result will not be good. Also, if the skin is very heavy, the results will be insufficient.

The thread is not intended to be removed as it is composed of materials that are perfectly biocompatible. Patients can live with the threads beneath their skin throughout their life without feeling their presence. However, they can be removed by an experienced practitioner in the event of rare complications.

Spring Thread® is non-absorbable, it does not disintegrate but ‘fuses’ with the tissue beneath the skin in a permanent way. The effect of a thread lift lasts for 3 to 5 years, as it varies depending on the patient and natural ageing, just like a facelift. This technique allows you to ‘gain time’, but does not halt the ageing process. After a few years, several options are possible: do nothing, have another thread lift, or decide on a different rejuvenation technique, surgical or otherwise.
