From the development of Spring Thread® in 2006 and its launch in 2007, Dr. Frismand wanted to bring his experience of implants to provide a quality and safe service.
Spring Thread® is 100% made in France. The products undergo extensive testing, both during production and before marketing. Therefore, the company 1st Surgiconcept is certified ISO 13485 (quality of medical devices) and the Spring Thread® range is CE marked (Class IIb Medical Device).
All components of Spring Thread® are biocompatible and have been used in implant surgery for more than 50 years.
Spring Thread® implants are permanent. Unlike other resorbable products, Spring Thread® results will last for between 3 and 6 years, depending on the individual case. However, this product cannot perform ‘miracles’. It does not prevent the ageing of tissues, which means that after a few years, you will have to choose between: doing nothing, having existing threads retightened (Easylift® implant), opting for new thread implants or looking to another rejuvenation technique.
Spring Thread® products are suitable for the treatment of facial and body ptosis (sagging). The following areas can be treated:
Face: cheeks, cheekbones, jowls, oval of the face, eyebrows, neck
Body: breasts, arms, buttocks, legs
Compared to other techniques, thread lifting offers many advantages:
No hospital stay
No social exclusion
Reduced risk of infection
In addition, the suspension effect actually exerts an upward force and is therefore particularly suitable for ptosis (sagging of tissues due to gravity).
Spring Thread® wire offers many advantages in comparison with other products on the market :
Therefore, the result achieved is exceptionally natural. The face remains very animated, with a reshaped oval, revitalised lip contours and a more defined look around the eyes.
There are no specific precautions or necessary treatment.
However, it is essential that you ask your doctor any questions you may have, so that you will be well informed about the threads and the implant procedure. The doctor will ask you to wash your hair with disinfectant shampoo on the day of the procedure and prescribe a mild sedative in order to help you to remain relaxed.
Spring Thread® has a stringent process for selecting, training and authorising doctors and surgeons to perform thread implants.

Following your Spring Thread® wire implant, a few days of rest are recommended :
In addition, during the hours following the treatment, it is possible that a slight oedema (swelling), some redness, or bruising may occur. This will disappear within a few days. Some skin folds may also appear. These are a result of the tightening of the threads. They will disappear within a few days.
The procedure is generally performed under local anaesthetic and sometimes under a suitable sedative if the patient is feeling anxious.
The thread implant procedure is almost pain-free. No pain is experienced during thread insertion.
Spring Thread® is 100% made in France. It is CE marked (Class IIb Medical Device, in accordance with the 93-42 CE directive) and is compliant with the ISO 13485 standard which relates to the production of medical devices.
It is comprised of a spiralled PET (polyethylene terephthalate) core on which a medical grade silicon ring is moulded. The PET makes the product resistant and ensures lengthening is restricted to 20%, whilst the silicone allows the required elasticity to be obtained, achieving a natural result.
No, silicone is amongst one of the most neutral products used in surgery for many years. The silicone used for Spring Thread® is a medical grade, solid silicone, which bears no relation to liquid silicone.
It is possible for your doctor to unhook some of the barbs for a few days after the thread implant procedure. Beyond this time period, the phenomenon of fibrosis occurs around the threads, making their anchorage much stronger. They are therefore much more difficult to unhook.
The after-effects of the procedure are minimal and normal activity may be resumed the following day. A feeling of skin tightness is common, along with the occurrence of oedema and occasionally, bruising. These symptoms disappear within a short time. Antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and/or analgesics are generally prescribed.
Skin folds, whether large or small, depending on the extent of the tightening, will disappear in the few days following the procedure.
In all cases, a follow-up visit is scheduled during the week following the procedure.
The result of tissue lifting is immediate and does not alter facial features. The result improves over time. The optimal result is achieved 2 months after the thread implant procedure, which is the time span required for fibrosis to develop.
An elderly person who is anxious about a surgical facelift or deep peeling may resort to this procedure, but the threads only achieve a shift in volume and cannot be compared to these two procedures. It is important to note that this technique is not suitable for wrinkled and saggy skin. To ensure an effective and aesthetically pleasing result, the skin must not be too fine and with only a reasonable degree of looseness.
The cost of the procedure depends on the number of areas treated and, therefore, on the number and type of threads inserted. During the first consultation, the doctor provides the patient with an accurate quotation.
The price can vary between €2,000 and €4,000 depending on the number of threads inserted, the doctor and the location of the clinic.
There are no medically based disadvantages.
It is necessary to know when to refuse patients who have unrealistic expectations of this procedure.
If the skin is fine and wrinkled, the result will not be acceptable.
If the skin is thick and very ‘heavy’, the result will be unsatisfactory.
Only one session is necessary. More threads may be implanted a few years later, if required.
A totally natural, younger appearance. In addition to this result which occurs after 3 to 4 months, it is also interesting to note how the skin then slackens much more slowly because hypodermic support is long-lasting. This is very apparent after 5 years.
Remeshing, as a result of skin tightening or barbed suspension threads, is a new solution for men and women who are still relatively young, but desire ‘long-lasting’ rejuvenation and do not wish to resort to surgery. These threads enable the tightening of the oval of a tired, relatively young face and are an alternative to a surgical facelift.
Skin tightening threads today represent an additional, effective and radical technique in the overall management of the ageing process of the face. In combination with fillers, peelings and phototherapies, they offer an effective medical tool in the struggle against signs of ageing, without being in direct competition with surgical procedures.
The main advantages of this medical lifting, using skin tightening threads as a rejuvenation technique, are as follows:
Therefore, the implantation of skin tightening or suspension threads is a medical procedure for facial rejuvenation which achieves the same result as, and is an alternative to, a surgical facelift.
The ageing of the face translates essentially into 2 phenomena :
Tissue involution, which is the loss of tissue density, can be compensated for through administering injections to restore lost volume, either using botulinum toxin treatments for the upper part of the face, or by using hyaluronic acid for other parts of the face.
The reasons for undergoing surgical facelifts have, as a result, substantially decreased.
Saggy tissue can be addressed using skin tightening threads
This technique, which does not require an incision to implant the threads, can be described as ‘transcutaneous’. The skin tightening threads enable tissue mobilisation towards the upper part of the face, therefore lifting tissue, but without the need to cut the skin to trim it, or the need for in-depth detachment to mobilise it, thus enabling vascular blood flow to be maintained, which is essential for quality skin.
A surgical facelift, which requires skin removal and the repositioning of muscles, is an effective technique for the lower part of the face and the neck. It is suitable for more mature or damaged skins and sometimes causes significant scarring, as it is a complex procedure.
This procedure tightens the skin and stimulates collagen production, restoring its elasticity:
It upwardly repositions the facial structure to prevent saggy tissue (the downward sliding of surface tissue over deep tissue, accompanied by a relative lengthening of surface tissue).
It helps to combat cutaneous and subcutaneous ageing: all facial sagging, from the age of 35 to later in life (over 70 years of age).
The implantation of skin tightening threads is suitable for both men and women who are still relatively young, between the age of 35 and 70 years, and for whom a surgical facelift would be premature, or for older people who would not consider a complex surgical procedure and whose skin is suitable.
Indications by area:
The phenomenon of ageing is physiologically complex. It can, however, be summarised in 3 main points :
1. A loss of volume
2. Deterioration of skin quality
3. Ptosis (sagging)
The procedures of pulling, remeshing or ‘filting’, just like lifting, act solely on the ptosis, and therefore only have a partial impact on the overall management of the ageing process (although there is a partial correction of volume, probably linked to the activation of collagen synthesis driven by the threads).
The skin is tightened and the oval of the face is redefined, the features are accentuated, the cheekbones are more prominent, wrinkles are reduced.
The threads do not affect the muscles. There is therefore no change in facial expression, which remains both natural and coordinated.
The production of collagen around the thread structures and supports the skin, the beneficial effects of which will be apparent for many years.
The result is a completely fresh look and a restored tightening of tissue which has a tendency to sag.
Facial rejuvenation is evident: the results are immediate, 90% are apparent during the week following the procedure, after which it is necessary to return to the clinic for possible adjustments. The results become more defined during the 3 months following the procedure.
The results will last for several years: approximately 1 and a half years for resorbable threads; 3 to 5 years minimum for permanent threads.
